Pokemon GO Search Strings & Filters

Pokemon GO has a built-in search bar in your Pokemon storage. Type special keywords and operators to filter your collection. For example, typing shiny&4* shows only your perfect IV shiny Pokemon. Combine strings using & (AND), , (OR), and ! (NOT) operators.

4* means a Pokemon with perfect Individual Values (IVs) — 15 Attack, 15 Defense, and 15 Stamina. These are also called "hundos" or "100% IV" Pokemon. The star rating goes from 0* (worst) to 4* (perfect). In the appraisal screen, a 4* Pokemon shows three full bars.

The safest mass transfer string is !4*&!3*&!shiny&!legendary&!shadow&!mythical&!favorite. This keeps all valuable Pokemon and only shows safe-to-transfer ones. Always double-check before confirming mass transfer.

Yes! Use & for AND, , for OR, and ! for NOT. For example, fire,water&shiny finds shiny Fire or Water type Pokemon. You can chain as many conditions as you need.

Type 4* in the search bar. This shows all Pokemon with perfect 15/15/15 IVs. You can also search for near-perfect Pokemon with 3*,4* to include 3-star (82%+) and 4-star Pokemon.

Type shiny in the search bar. To find specific shiny Pokemon, combine it with a name: shiny&eevee. To find shiny legendaries, use shiny&legendary.

Use age0 to show Pokemon caught today. For the last 2 days use age0-1, and for the last week use age0-7. Combine with IV filters like age0&!3*&!4* to find today's low-IV catches safe to transfer.

Type the type name directly, like fire, water, or dragon. For multiple types, use a comma: fire,water. To search by move type instead of Pokemon type, use @fire with the @ prefix.

The @ prefix searches by move type rather than Pokemon type. For example, @fire finds any Pokemon that knows a Fire-type move, regardless of the Pokemon's own type. This is useful for building raid teams based on move coverage.

Use evolve to show all Pokemon you can evolve right now. For bonus XP, use evolvenew to find Pokemon that will register a new Pokedex entry when evolved, which gives 1,000 extra XP.

For Great League (CP cap 1500), search cp-1500&3*,4* to find high-IV Pokemon under the CP cap. For Ultra League, use cp-2500&3*,4*. Note that PvP IVs work differently — lower Attack with higher Defense and Stamina is often better for capped leagues.

Use distance100- to find Pokemon caught 100+ km away. Trading these gives 3 candy instead of 1, and counts toward your Pilot medal. Combine with distance100-&!favorite&!shiny to only show expendable far-away Pokemon.
