Giratina is Ghost/Dragon, weak to Ghost, Dragon, Ice, Dark, and Fairy — plenty of options, with other Ghosts and Dragons leading the charge. It's a comfortable trio and duo-able when it's the Altered Forme. The real value here is PvP: Origin Forme is a top-tier Ultra League pick thanks to Shadow Claw spam and Shadow Ball/Dragon pulse pressure, and Altered Forme is a defensive wall. As a Ghost raid attacker, Origin Giratina is also excellent. This is one of the highest-value legendaries for competitive players.
Do not bring Fighting, Normal, Bug damage — Giratina (Altered) resists it and your lobby will run out of time before it runs out of HP. Everything in the counter list above already hits for super effective damage, so pick the six highest entries you actually own and power up.
In Fog, Windy weather the boss hits harder and survives longer, but the catch encounter is level 25 instead of 20 — a harder fight for a better reward. Bring one extra trainer on boosted runs.
