How the fight goes and what to bring.
Dialga is Steel/Dragon, an incredibly resilient typing weak only to Fighting and Ground. Bring Lucario, Terrakion, Garchomp, Groudon, or Rhyperior. It's a tough duo and best done with 3-4 trainers due to its bulk and neutral resistances. Dialga is a cornerstone of Master League PvP and a strong Dragon/Steel raid attacker, so the investment rarely goes to waste. If the Origin Forme is available with Roar of Time, prioritize that version — it's a meaningful upgrade over the base form.
Do not bring Grass, Poison, Bug damage — Shadow Dialga resists it and your lobby will run out of time before it runs out of HP. Everything in the counter list above already hits for super effective damage, so pick the six highest entries you actually own and power up.
In Snow, Windy weather the boss hits harder and survives longer, but the catch encounter is level 25 instead of 20 — a harder fight for a better reward. Bring one extra trainer on boosted runs.
