The Fighting-type attacker tier list ranks the top 30 Pokemon by raid DPS in 2026. Use Fighting-type attackers against Dark, Ice, Normal, Rock-type raid bosses. Shadow Pokemon deal 20% more damage, while Mega evolutions boost the entire raid team.
Rankings are calculated by simulating every possible fast and charged move combination for each Pokemon at level 40 against a generic Tier 5 raid boss. We measure DPS (Damage Per Second), TDO (Total Damage Output before fainting), and eDPS (a composite metric that balances raw damage with survivability). The final ranking weighs type-specific DPS at 70% and overall DPS at 30%, so Pokemon with strong same-type moves are prioritized while off-type coverage is still rewarded.
Fighting-type Pokemon GO is the premier counter to Normal, Rock, Ice, Steel, and Dark — five of the most common defensive typings in the game. Fighting attackers like Lucario, Conkeldurr, Mega Blaziken, Terrakion, and Crowned Zacian (Fairy/Steel pair counter) sit at the top of multi-type DPS rankings. Signature Fighting moves include Aura Sphere, Sacred Sword, Counter, Close Combat, Dynamic Punch, and Cross Chop. Fighting types are weak to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy. The type’s utility is amplified by the fact that Tyranitar, Excadrill, Heatran, and Mega Manectric — all top raid bosses — are 4× weak to Fighting in their dual-type configurations.
The top Fighting attackers are Mega Blaziken, Mega Lucario, Crowned Zacian (technically Fairy/Steel), Shadow Machamp, Terrakion, and Lucario. Mega Lucario with Counter and Aura Sphere is the new gold standard for Fighting raids since its release. Mega Blaziken (Fire/Fighting) with Counter and Blast Burn flexes between Fighting and Fire. Shadow Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch remains a top-three Fighting attacker for trainers without Megas. Terrakion (Rock/Fighting) and Conkeldurr with Counter and Dynamic Punch round out the legendary and non-legendary tiers. Hariyama, Breloom, Toxicroak, and Sirfetch’d offer budget options.
Fighting types are PvP staples across all leagues. Medicham (Fighting/Psychic) with Counter and Ice Punch is a Great League legend. Toxicroak (Fighting/Poison), Sirfetch’d (Fighting), and Galarian Stunfisk (Steel/Ground) are open Great League core picks. In Ultra League, Cobalion, Virizion, and Lucario flex with strong dual typings. In Master League, Crowned Zacian and Mega Lucario lead the meta, while Conkeldurr serves as the budget anti-Steel pick. Pangoro (Fighting/Dark), Buzzwole (Bug/Fighting), and Pheromosa add Ultra Beast variety. Galarian Zapdos (Fighting/Flying) is a unique 4× Electric weakness that punishes lazy team building.
Fighting attackers shine against Normal (Blissey, Snorlax, Slaking — all common gym defenders), Rock (Tyranitar, Rhyperior), Ice (Galarian Darmanitan, Mamoswine), Steel (Metagross, Heatran, Excadrill), and Dark (Hydreigon, Yveltal, Tyranitar). They are 1.6× weak to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy — and Tyranitar specifically takes 4× from Fighting due to its Rock/Dark dual typing. Cloudy weather boosts Fighting moves by 1.2× and is the optimal weather for Fighting raids. Fighting is the universal “gym destroyer” type in Pokemon GO since Blissey and Chansey gym defenders all crumble to Counter spam.
Fighting Community Days have included Machop → Machamp with Payback, Tyrogue → Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee/Hitmontop, Croagunk → Toxicroak, Riolu → Lucario with Aura Sphere, Galarian Farfetch’d → Sirfetch’d with Leaf Blade, and Timburr → Conkeldurr with Dynamic Punch. Riolu Community Day in 2024 was one of the most popular CDs ever and unlocked Aura Sphere as a permanent move on Lucario. Mega Blaziken, Mega Lucario, and Mega Heracross (Bug/Fighting) appear in Mega Raid rotations. Crowned Zacian (Fairy/Steel) raids in 2025 added a top-tier Fighting-counter, and Single Strike Urshifu was added through a paid Special Research with the Galar legendary expansion.
