How the fight goes and what to bring.
Yveltal is Dark/Flying, weak to Electric, Ice, Rock, and Fairy. Electric and Rock attackers plus Fairies counter it. It's beatable with 3-4 trainers. Yveltal's Dark typing makes it a solid Ghost/Psychic raid counter, and Snarl plus Dark Pulse/Focus Blast give it real PvP presence in multiple leagues. It's not the absolute best at any one thing, but its versatility makes it a good all-rounder. The shiny recolors its red accents to blue.
Do not bring Ground, Psychic, Dark damage — Yveltal resists it and your lobby will run out of time before it runs out of HP. Everything in the counter list above already hits for super effective damage, so pick the six highest entries you actually own and power up.
In Fog, Windy weather the boss hits harder and survives longer, but the catch encounter is level 25 instead of 20 — a harder fight for a better reward. Bring one extra trainer on boosted runs.
