Editor's notes

Mewtwo is two different Pokemon depending on one move. With Psystrike it is a Psychic attacker; without it, Psychic is a clear step down. Psystrike and Shadow Ball are both legacy, so a raid-caught Mewtwo needs an Elite Charged TM, or a catch from an event that brings the move back, to reach the moveset shown above.

Its wide coverage (Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Focus Blast) is tempting, but those are non-STAB moves on a Psychic type: they fill a gap, they do not make it a top attacker of that type. Mega Mewtwo X and Y arrived with GO Fest 2026 and track their Mega Energy separately.
