The Psychic-type attacker tier list ranks the top 30 Pokemon by raid DPS in 2026. Use Psychic-type attackers against Fighting, Poison-type raid bosses. Shadow Pokemon deal 20% more damage, while Mega evolutions boost the entire raid team.
Rankings are calculated by simulating every possible fast and charged move combination for each Pokemon at level 40 against a generic Tier 5 raid boss. We measure DPS (Damage Per Second), TDO (Total Damage Output before fainting), and eDPS (a composite metric that balances raw damage with survivability). The final ranking weighs type-specific DPS at 70% and overall DPS at 30%, so Pokemon with strong same-type moves are prioritized while off-type coverage is still rewarded.
Psychic-type Pokemon GO is the home of the strongest pure attacker in the game: Mewtwo. Psychic attackers handle Fighting and Poison — the latter being especially relevant in Master League where Naganadel and Galarian Slowking appear. Psychic types include legendary heavyweights Mewtwo, Lugia, Latios, Latias, Cresselia, Necrozma, and the Tapu guardians, plus mythicals Mew, Celebi (Grass/Psychic), Jirachi (Steel/Psychic), Deoxys (in multiple formes), Hoopa, Meloetta, and Marshadow. Signature Psychic moves include Psychic, Psystrike (Mewtwo exclusive), Psyshock, Future Sight, Confusion, and Zen Headbutt. Psychic types are weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark, all of which are common attacking types in raids.
The top Psychic attackers are Shadow Mewtwo, Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, Mewtwo, and Hoopa Unbound (Psychic/Dark). Shadow Mewtwo with Confusion and Psystrike has the highest Psychic DPS in the game and is widely considered the best raid attacker overall. Mega Mewtwo Y boosts Psychic-type damage during raids. Mega Alakazam with Confusion and Psychic is a strong budget Mega. Espeon (Psychic) and Latios (Dragon/Psychic) flex into Psychic raids. Mega Latios and Mega Latias bring dual Dragon/Psychic utility. Galarian Slowking (Poison/Psychic) and Necrozma flex into specialty roles.
Psychic types are PvP staples but not always for their Psychic typing. Cresselia with Psycho Cut and Grass Knot is a long-standing Great and Ultra League pick. Galarian Slowking with Confusion and Future Sight or Sludge Wave is a top Master League pick. Espeon with Confusion and Future Sight punishes Fighting cores. Latios, Latias, Lugia, and Mewtwo flex into Master League. Tapu Lele (Psychic/Fairy), Tapu Fini (Water/Fairy), and Reuniclus (Psychic) bring unique typings to limited cups. Medicham (Fighting/Psychic) sees consistent Great League play. Galarian Articuno (Psychic/Flying) is a Daily Adventure Incense rarity that surprises in Ultra League.
Psychic attackers shine against Fighting (Conkeldurr, Mega Lucario, Crowned Zacian) and Poison (Roserade, Mega Beedrill, Toxicroak). They are 1.6× weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark — and Galarian Articuno (Psychic/Flying) takes 4× damage from Rock. Windy weather boosts Psychic by 1.2× alongside Dragon and Flying. Avoid Psychic attackers against Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Yveltal, Origin Forme Giratina, Pinsir, Volcarona, and Genesect. Mewtwo specifically is the gold standard universal raid attacker — its access to Confusion plus Psystrike, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt as legacy moves makes it one of the most flexible Pokemon to power up in the entire game.
Psychic Community Days have included Abra → Alakazam with Counter, Ralts → Gardevoir with Synchronoise, Gothita → Gothitelle, Espurr → Meowstic, and various Mythical events. Mewtwo received a Raid Day in 2023 that unlocked the legacy Psystrike for new captures. Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y debuted in 2025 alongside the Hoenn weather expansion. Mega Latios and Mega Latias appear regularly in Mega Raid rotations during eon-themed events. Galarian Slowking added Future Sight as a unique Psychic charged move. Necrozma debuted in 2024 with its Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings fused forms. Hoopa Unbound (Psychic/Dark) is Elite-Raid exclusive.
